Oliver graduated from Cardiff University with a First in Chemistry (MChem) in 2019. During the 3rd year of his undergraduate studies, he conducted synthetic organic research under the supervision of Prof. Yuri Bolshan at Ontario Tech University, Canada. The main focus of his research during this year was spent developing a novel reduction method where diethyl ether act as a hydride source. Oliver completed his master’s project under the supervision of Dr Duncan Browne, working on the in-situ generation and utilisation of carbon dioxide for the preparation of carbonates under continuous flow conditions. Oliver is currently in the first year of his Ph.D. at the University of Leeds supervised by Dr Richard Bourne and Dr Nicholas Warren. His project is focused on the utilisation of liquid handling robotics with self-optimised flow reactors for the optimization of non-continuous variables.
