I graduated from the University of York with a First Class in Chemistry, Management and Industry with a year in industry (MChem) in 2020. In the fourth year of my undergraduate degree I worked at The Lubrizol Corporation within the Chemical Synthesis R&D department as a placement student. Here I developed novel block copolymer additives with a variety of different architectures via RAFT polymerisation, optimised their synthesis, and investigated greener technologies for organic synthesis under the supervision of Dr. Richard Myerson. In September 2020 I began my PhD journey as part of the GREEN (nuclear) CDT at the University of Leeds under the supervision of Prof. Bruce Hanson and Dr. Richard Bourne. My project focuses on the optimisation and scale-up of ligand extractants used in advanced partitioning technologies. I am an avid climber, foodaholic, and outdoor enthusiast with a passion for a cleaner future.
