Clarissa graduated from The University of Nottingham with an MSc in Chemistry in 2019. During her time there she completed 2 summer projects. The first, involved helping design a set of experiments for an undergraduate degree programme at UNNC. The second, she worked In the George/Poliakoff group making antimalarial drug Artemisin via photo-oxidation in flow.  In her third year, Clarissa completed a module as part of her degree run by GlaxoSmithKline synthesising novel Asthma drugs. She then completed her masters research project under Prof. Mike George and Prof. Martyn Poliakoff working on photocatalytic routes to synthesise amides in flow. Clarissa is now a first year PhD supervised by Dr Nicholas Warren and Dr Richard Bourne working on the development of autonomous/ self-optimising flow reactors for precision polymer synthesis.
